The following describes how to block incoming messages (SMS, MMS, PIN,
BlackBerry ® Internet Service, BlackBerry ® Enterprise Server email) on
BlackBerry ® smartphones used smartphone firewall.
On the BlackBerry smartphone following steps for BlackBerry smartphones
running BlackBerry Device 6.0 ® Software:
From the Home screen
smartphone, click Options.
Select the Firewall
Security>.
To block all incoming SMS / Text Messaging:
Select Message Text check
box.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all incoming PIN messages:
Select the check box PIN.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all messages incoming BlackBerry Internet Service:
Select Personal Email check
box.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all incoming messages BlackBerry Enterprise Server email:
Select the check box company
email.
Display menu and select
Save.
On the BlackBerry smartphone following steps for BlackBerry smartphones
running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0:
From the Home screen
smartphone, click Options.
Firewall Security
Options>.
To block all incoming SMS / Text Messaging:
Select the check box SMS.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all incoming MMS messages:
MMS Select the check box.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all incoming PIN messages:
Select the check box PIN.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all messages incoming BlackBerry Internet Service:
Select BlackBerry Internet
Service check box.
Display menu and select
Save.
To block all incoming messages BlackBerry Enterprise Server email:
Select the check box company email.
Display menu and select
Save.
Additional information
Note:
Exceptions can be used to allow messages from your contacts or address book
from a specific address.
To
block incoming messages except messages from the BlackBerry smartphone user's
address book the following steps:
Under Exceptions, Check the Contacts check
box.
Note:
This will block all messages except the messages received from contacts.
To
block incoming messages except messages from specific addresses take the
following steps:

- Under the exception, check Specific address check box.
- Click the Add button
- Once the Firewall Exceptions screen, click the menu button and select Add Email Address Telephone Number or Add or Add PIN
- Enter your email address or phone number or PIN and press return / enter
- The new exclusion will appear in the list.
- Press the menu button and select Save.
BlackBerry
Device Software 5.0:
- Under the exception, check Specific address check box.
- Press the Setup menu and select the Exceptions
- Once the Firewall Exceptions screen, click the menu button and select Add Email Address Telephone Number or Add or Add PIN
- Enter your email address or phone number or PIN and press return / enter
- The new exclusion will appear in the list.
- Press the menu button and select Save.
Note:
This will block all messages except the messages received from a particular
address (s).
